Family Readiness

To reach the 185th Family Readiness office call: 712-233-0817

The 185th Air Refueling Wing (ARW) Family Readiness Office is available to assist all military members and their families. The goal of family readiness is to prepare guard members and their family for deployments prior to mobilization, TDY, or training events. It is imperative that both the military member and their family are prepared before a separation. Proper preparation allows the unit member to focus on the mission and allows the family to be self-sufficient while the member is away. Family readiness also aims to contribute to morale and welfare of the 185th ARW team members by providing family activities throughout the year. The goal of these activities to provide an opportunity to build relationships and mutual support, particularly during times of separation.

Family Readiness Office also assists in various situations as needs are identified. The Family Readiness Program serves as a liaison with the member and their family to provide a link between the National Guard and the Siouxland community. Anyone can become involved with the Bats Family Club, including members, spouses, significant others, parents, youth, extended family, retirees, and friends. Essentially, the organization is open to anyone who has the best interest of the 185th at heart.
