A U.S. Air Force KC-135 assigned to the Iowa Air National Guard’s 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City, Iowa is painted with a diamond on the nose as part of a 75th anniversary paint scheme. The diamond is surrounded by silhouettes depicting each aircraft flown by the unit since its beginnings in 1946. A thunderbolt is included along with the diamond as an homage to aircraft flown during the 1950’s like the F-84 Thunderjet. U.S. Air National Guard photo by Senior Master Sgt. Vincent De Groot
