The 185th Bats Family Club, a support group for the 185 Air Refueling Wing, Sioux City, Iowa, sponsored its first annual Spring Fling event at the Sergeant Bluff middle school on Saturday, 3 March 2018.  At the event, open to the families of unit members, each child was given a gift bag filled with treats upon entering the event along with free hotdogs, chips and a drink.  The children had fun playing board games, watching movies, and playing basketball in the gym.   With all of these options to enjoy the Easter egg decorating seemed to top the list followed closely by having hopping races with the “Easter Bunny”.

According to Gary Schmidt, 185 ARW Family Programs Coordinator, “This is a great opportunity to get out of the winter rut and begin celebrating by getting us all together for a social, casual event. It gives members an opportunity to meet new recruits and visa versa.  I also look at it as an opportunity to show appreciation for all the hard work everyone does around the 185 ARW.

The 185th’s Junior Enlisted Council, and the Top Three Council provided volunteers to help with the event.
