Environmental Strategy

The 185th Air Refueling Wing  in Sioux City, Iowa is committed to conducting its refueling mission in an environmentally responsible manner that will protect human health, natural resources, and the environment.  This commitment goes beyond compliance with AFPD 90-8 and ISO 14001 standards.  This commitment encompasses integration of the following sound environmental practices into our daily decisions and activities:

 

Ø  Committed to comply with applicable federal, state, and local environmental         

     laws and regulations and other requirements;

Ø  Actively seek opportunities for pollution prevention and waste reduction;
Ø  Promote conservation  and sustainable use of natural and manmade materials;
Ø  Build environmental concerns into all policies, programs, and missions;
Ø  Strive for continual improvement in our environmental performance, over and

     above regulatory requirements; 

Ø  Set environmental goals, measure progress, and take corrective actions, when

     necessary;  and                                                        

Ø  Work in partnership with our employees, suppliers, regulators, and residents of

     Siouxland communities to promote our  commitment to environmental    

     excellence.

 

Compliance with this Environmental Strategy is the responsibility of every member of the  185th Air Refueling Wing and everyone working on behalf of the 185th Air Refueling Wing, in accordance with  his or her roles and responsibilities within the organization.
