Colonel Shawn R. Streck

Colonel Shawn R. Streck is the 185th Air Refueling Wing Mission Support Group Commander of the Iowa Air National Guard. As the Mission Support Group Commander he is responsible for the readiness nearly 1000 unit personnel. Colonel Streck directs the 185th ARW Emergency Operations Center where he acts as the Wing's primary resource coordinator for accidents and disaster response. He ensures availability of essential base services including force support, engineering, communications, logistics, contracting and security forces.

Colonel Streck earned his commission in 1997 through the Academy of Military Science. He has served as the 185th Air Refueling Wing Comptroller and Budget Officer.  Colonel Streck served as the Comptroller representative of the Air Force Crisis Action Team at the Pentagon. Colonel Streck served as the Officer-In-Charge of the 340th Aircraft Maintenance Unit while deployed to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar; the world’s largest KC-135 operation.

During his deployment in Qatar, 400 Airmen were consolidated from 18 units into a Total Force Team while generating 8,500 flight hours, 1,500 sorties, and 72 million pounds of fuel offloaded to 3,700 receivers.
