Sioux City, Iowa -- The Iowa Air National Guard’s 185th Air Refueling Wing, based in Sioux City, Iowa recently announced the recipients of the unit’s 2020 Outstanding Airman of the Year. Senior Airman Kenneth Chubbuck, Technical Sgt. Joy Krei, Master Sgt. Anthony Heck and 1st Sgt. Alan Pick all received honors.
Chief Master Sgt. Joe Donovan, 185th Air Refueling Wing Command Chief, said the Airmen of the Year were selected by a local board based on superior leadership, job performance, and personal achievements.
“I want to congratulate each of our Airmen of the Year,” said Donovan. “This group reflects a diverse AFSC’s (Air Force Specialty Code) and showcases how our Airmen, provide vital impact to the mission at all levels.”
Senior Airman Kenneth Chubbuck was selected as the 185th Air Refueling Wing Airman of the Year in the Airmen category. Chubbuck is a traditional guard member who works in battle management at the 133rd Test Squadron in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
The unit’s Noncommissioned Officer of the Year was awarded to Technical Sgt. Joy Krei. Krei is a traditional guard member who works in the 185th ARW finance office in Sioux City, Iowa.
Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year was awarded to Master Sgt. Anthony Heck. Heck works as an Aerospace Ground Equipment or “AGE” specialist in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Master Sgt. Alan Pick was awarded honors as the Wing’s First Sergeant of the Year. Pick is the First Sergeant for the 185th ARW Security Forces squadron in Sioux City, Iowa.
After being selected at the Wing, the Iowa Air National Guard Headquarters will select one individual in each category from either from the 185th ARW or the 132nd Wing in Des Moines. After the statewide recipients are announced, these Airmen will represent the Iowa Air Guard at the Air National Guard’s regional Airmen of the Year competition.
