185th Services Members Awarded NCO and SNCO of the Year

Sioux City, IA --  Sioux City, IA--Master Sergeant Dane Wagner and Staff Sergeant Leah Fishman of the 185th ARW Services Flight received high honors when they were selected as the 2009 Air Reserve Component Services Senior NCO and NCO of the year. The two airmen received their awards in San Antonio, Texas during the Force Support Conference during the week of March 9, 2010.

Wagner and Fishman distinguished themselves during a 2009 deployment to Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE. Fishman is credited with supporting three dinning facilities with $2.5 million worth of rations. She took charged o f several projects while deployed with the 380th EFSS and earned the Air Force Achievement Medal for her outstanding leadership and dedication.

During his deployment, Wagner oversaw the renovation of the Main Dining Facility while operating serving lines during the work. He also administered a $3.2 million Food Contract as part of his duties as NCOIC for the Main Dining Facility. Due to Wagner's response to over 250 customer feedback forms, meals served at the facility increased by 25%.

"After receiving our award, the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force shook our hands," Wagner said. "That is a big deal to me that the top enlisted person in the Air Force was there to recognize us."
