Deadline for Tuition Assistance Coming Soon Published July 20, 2009 By MSGT Vincent De Groot 185th ARW Public Affairs Des Moines, Iowa -- Members of the Iowa National Guard who plan to attend college can have up to 70% of their tuition paid this year. The money can be used at any Iowa school and the maximum amount paid per semester is a little over $2300 dollars. Eligible Iowa Guard members who are college students are encouraged to fill out an online application on the Iowa National Guard web site as soon as possible. The deadline this year is August 31, and the earlier the application is filled out the more likely an eligible recipient is to receive the entire amount. For members of the Iowa National Guard residing in western Iowa who may have questions about the program they can contact the retention office at the 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City, Iowa. The online application can be found at: www.iowanationalguard.com/ANG/Education/TuitionAssistance.htm
