The 185th Air Refueling Wing Safety Office and Family Programs Office along with local community agencies recently invited military members and their families to a Safety Fair at the 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City, Iowa.

The event was open to military families who live in the area. There were booths on Water Safety, Nutrition and Fun Fitness Ideas. Other information was provided on Fire Safety and Poison Control. Kids had the opportunity to go through the Sioux City Fire Department Fire House and Confined Spaces Trainer during the event at the Iowa Air Guard base.

Safety Pup and Sparky the Fire Dog were on hand to help teach kids about being safe. Parents had a chance to get free inspections and instruction on proper installation of child car seats. Kids who brought their bicycles also had a chance to ride in the bicycle Rodeo where they had their bicycles and helmets inspected.

The event kicked off the 185th ARW "101 Critical Days of Summer" Campaign, which starts annually on Memorial Day weekend and goes through Labor Day.
