Since 1972 the Des Moines Register has sponsored what has become the largest organized bicycle ride in the world. RAGBRAI (Registers annual great ride across Iowa).

Bike Air National Guard, or "BANG", is a cycling club that has participated in Ragbrai since 1987. The club has members from the 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City, the 132nd Fighter Wing from Des Moines, the 133rd Test Squadron in Fort Dodge, Iowa as well as retirees, family and friends.

This year's ride will begin on the 19th of July and end on the 26th. Team "BANG" plans to transport their own equipment and supplies to each overnight location, after making prior arrangements for each destination.

The Register allows eighteen riders from each club. This will eliminate using the RAGBRAI lottery system. The cost will be $125 to register and $70 for truck expenses. The deadline for clubs to submit all fees and waivers is March 1st.

Chief Master Sergeant Jim Clark (retired) urges all interested to bring signed waivers and fee's to him by February 20th. More information about the ride and registration can be found online @ www.ragbrai..org. Call or email Chief Clark at www.ccmsjimclark@aol.com PH 712-276-2533 Cell 712-898-3330
