Members of the 185th holiday project committee got an early start this year on their first holiday project fund-raiser. What better way to make people happy and make a little money than with a good hot breakfast. Two burritos with egg, sausage, cheese and salsa could be had for a mere $3.

Committee members took orders for dine-in or take-out as a constant flow of customers sped through the serving line to get fresh hot breakfast burritos.

In past years fund-raisers have usually kicked off later in the year, and by the end of December people start getting a little "fed up" with breakfast sandwiches. According to committee member Chief Master Sgt. Vicki DeWitt they are hoping to have a little more success by starting fund-raising a little earlier. "This is our first time doing it this early in the year, so we are hoping not to burn people out," said DeWitt.

The money from the project goes to help purchase much needed gifts for residents in local care facilities. According to DeWitt the holiday project raised nearly $4,000 dollars last year. The committee was able to purchase a few large items for common use such as a large TV and plenty of smaller gifts for individual residents.

Committee members are already planning more fund-raisers and hope to have another breakfast soon.
