185th members run Disney Princess Half Marathon

Tech. Sgt. Amber Ladwig and Master Sgt. Wendy McLean assigned to the 185th Air Refueling Wing, took part in the Disney Princess half marathon on February 20th and 21st in Orlando, Florida.

Ladwig and McLean both participated in the Glass Slipper challenge that included a 10K race on February 20 and a half marathon race on February 21 for a total of 19.3 miles.

Ladwig placed 3rd and McLean placed 31st during the 10K race which consisted of 11,000 runners. Ladwig was awarded special recognition from the Disney Run Association.

Out of all of the 10K runners, 108 were registered as female military women. Ladwig and McLean also placed in the top 10% of runners in the half marathon. The half marathon consisted of 22,000 runners, 223 of which were registered as female military women. 

The runners made 11 stops along the route for photos with several Disney characters as part of the course.
