Shooting Star

A Koren War Era F-80 Shooting Star has been repainted at the Air National Guard paint facility here in Sioux City, Iowa. The Aircraft is stenciled with the markings of the Sioux City, Iowa Air National Guard scheme from the middle 1950’s. The Iowa Air National Guard's 174th Fighter Bomber Squadron flew the F-80 from 1953 to 1955. The F-80 will be on permanent static display at the Iowa National Guard Gold Star Museum at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa. USAF Photo MSgt Vincent De Groot
