First Iowa Air Guard Pilots in Sioux City

Some of the first pilots assigned to the Iowa Air National Guard’s 174th Fighter Squadron, Sioux City, Iowa, pose for a group photo in April, 1951. The group which includes several World War Two veterans, was activated on April 15, 1951 for service in the Korean War. First row: Lt. Sheldon Hanneman, Lt. Warren Nelson, Lt. Harold Taylor, Maj.
