Members of the Iowa National Guard Honor Guard fold a U.S. flag at the funeral of U.S. Army Cpl. Eldert J. Beek of Sibley, Iowa at his graveside ceremony at the Evergreen Cemetery in George, Iowa on June 14, 2021. Beek was killed in action on December 1, 1950 during the Korean War. His remains were not recovered until 2018, then positively identified in 2020. Funeral services for Beek were held on Flag Day June 14, 2021 in George, Iowa 70 years after his death.
