Family members of U.S. Amry Corporal Eldert J. Beek look the awards and decoration that were presented to them in a shadow box containing a U.S. Flag and decorations of U.S. Army Corporal Eldert J. Beek who was laid to rest at the Evergreen cemetery in George, Iowa on June 14, 2021. Beek was killed in action on December 1, 1950 during the Korean War. His remains were not recovered until 2018, then positively identified in 2020. Funeral services for Beek were held on Flag Day in George, Iowa 70 years after his death.
