Iowa's 1962 174th FS F-100 hat

In a photo simply labeled “Fight” aircraft maintainers from the Iowa Air National Guard’s 174th Fighter Squadron clown around in the main hangar while working on an F-100 Super Sabre on January 12, 1962 in Sioux City, Iowa. The Airman in the cockpit is shown wearing a 174th FS organizational ball cap. The 174th FS was the predecessor to today’s 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City. The 174th is still the flying squadron that is part of the 185th ARW. U.S. Air National Guard photo
