  • 185th earns 9th Air Force Outstanding Unit Award

    In December 2017 the 185th Air Refueling Wing from Sioux City, Iowa was informed that it was awarded the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for exceptionally meritorious service. The evaluation period for this award was from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2016. This is the 9th time in the unit’s history it has earned the award.
  • Care packages plus cash add up to Christmas miracle for deployed Airmen

    Care packages at the 185th Air Refueling Wing are mailed to deployed members of Sioux City, Iowa based Air National Guard unit. Care packages were packed by the Le Mars, Iowa High School Student Council and employees of the Premiere Bank Card Agency located in Dakota Dunes, S.D. Money for shipping was donated by Northwest Area Education Agency in Sioux City, Iowa.

    Members of the Iowa Air Guard’s 132nd Wing from Des Moines, Iowa returned to the Sioux City on Tuesday November 21, 2017. The guardsmen have been in Puerto Rico where they were providing support for the Hurricane Maria security mission.

  • Iowa Air Guard’s 185th ARW to deploy nearly 300 Airman

    This fall nearly 300 members of the Iowa Air National Guard’s 185th Air Refueling Wing are scheduled to depart Sioux City, for what will be one of the largest deployments in recent history of the unit. As part of the pre-deployment activities, during the August 2017 training weekend, deploying unit members and their families attended a Yellow Ribbon reintegration event on the campus of Western Iowa Technical Community College in Sioux City, Iowa.
